Sound Credit Union understands the importance of securing your personal and financial information. This is why we've been working to implement new security enhancements to help deter fraud and ensure that we are providing you with a very high level of security while you are using our Online Banking. Please note that for your protection, these features are required, but it will only take a few minutes to walk through the set-up.
The security measures implemented to online banking will add an extra layer of security to help deter fraudulent activity when using our online banking. When you log in you will be authenticated not only by your account number and password, but you will be recognized by what browser you are using. In addition you will provide a phrase that will be shown to you whenever you successfully log into online banking.
Secondary Password-
You will be prompted online to set-up a secondary password. This secondary password
will only be used when you log in from a new or unauthenticated browser.
For example, if you are using a browser that you did not originally set as your default browser there will now be additional steps to authorize that browser for online banking. Log in as normal, using your account number on the first screen, and your regular online banking password on the second screen. You should see a message stating "We were unable to verify your computer using your unique identifier." Using your mouse, enter the secondary password that you set up on the on-screen keyboard to log in successfully (the system only requires you to enter the first eight characters of your secondary password).
Your Verification Phrase-
One way to be certain that you are logging on to the online banking website, and not a fraudsters replicated site, is the new
verification phrase. This will be a phrase that you choose, and will appear each time you successfully log into online banking
If you don't see your phrase, do not continue, and contact us immediately at 800-562-8130 or 253-383-2016.
New Log in Screen-
Our new log in process will have a two step approach in order to log into online banking. The first screen will ask for your
account number. Once the correct account number is entered then a second screen will appear that will request your password. This new log in will
help to ensure that the person that is logging in has both account number and password and is not using a process of elimination to gain access.
