Debit or credit, what's the difference?

A debit transaction is processed through the ATM network, your PIN is required, you can get cash back and the transaction is deducted instantly from your checking account. A credit transaction is processed through the Visa network, you must sign the receipt and transactions may take up to 30 days to clear through your account.
