Economic Impact Payments

Economic Impact Payments/Stimulus Checks
January 2021: The IRS is currently distributing a second round of Economic Impact Payments, also referred to as stimulus payments or stimulus checks. This federal relief includes several elements aimed at helping people stay engaged in the economy, which means direct cash for many individuals and families.
Will I receive a stimulus payment?
Visit the IRS website and use the Get My Payment tool for specific information.
Your eligibility, the amount you will receive, and where and when your payment will be made is the sole decision of the IRS. Our branches and Contact Center, unfortunately, do not have access to this information.
When will I receive my stimulus payment?
The IRS has already begun processing this second round of payments. The fastest and safest way to determine if your stimulus check was deposited into your Sound Credit Union account is to log in to Online or Mobile Banking.
Visit Get My Payment Frequently Asked Questions for more details.
For most taxpayers, payments are automatically deposited in the same account that was used to file your 2019 tax return, with no further action required. If you did not use direct deposit for your 2019 tax return, a paper check will be mailed to your address on file at the IRS. Don’t see your stimulus payment? Don’t worry. Due to the volume of payments being distributed it can take several weeks. Visit the IRS website and use the Get My Payment tool for specific information.
