Phone System Update, July 2021

Updated July 6, 2021, 9:58 AM — On Friday, July 2, Sound’s telephone system provider was among the companies targeted in last week’s international cyber hacking event. Out of an abundance of caution, our partner made the decision to shut down their networks. This has resulted in the loss of internet-based telecom services for many of their clients, including Sound Credit Union. As a result, our phones have been inaccessible since late Friday morning.

We have completed running all the necessary security scans and tests on our own network. Sound Credit Union systems and data centers were not directly targeted and have not been directly affected by this exploit. Sound’s internal systems remain secure and member data is protected.

While we work to bring the phones back up, please consider some of these other ways to access your accounts:

  • Branches, ATMs, Online and Mobile banking remain available.
  • Our teams are actively working all messages that we receive through the Contact Us form.
  • Loan payments can be made directly online, without logging in to Online or Mobile banking.
  • We have activated back-up phone support with our partners at CO-OP Contact Center. Sound members may call 866.692.8669, for live 24/7 assistance. CO-OP representatives can assist with balance inquiries, transaction history, payments, and account transfers.

We value the trust that our members place in us, and prioritize delivering safe access to your account information. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through this.
