Equifax Data Breach

Padlock on a shield line art over map of the world.

On September 7, 2017, one of the three major credit reporting agencies, Equifax Inc., announced a very large data breach.

A breach this large has the potential to include many of our members. We’re here to help.

What you can do

  • Be alert for scams. Verify phone calls and watch out for phishing emails.
  • Check your accounts often using mobile or online banking to quickly detect any unauthorized activity.
  • Consider signing up for a credit monitoring service.

Remember, Sound Credit Union will never ask you for your PINs, passwords or account numbers by email or text message. Call us at 800.562.8130 or visit our Contact Us page to send a message online.
