A Letter to our Members
Don L. Clark, Jr,Sound’s cooperative model means success is measured not by shareholder returns, but by the value we provide to you.
Every member’s financial journey is different.
Some are saving for the future, others are buying a home, managing everyday expenses, or responding to unexpected moments. No matter where you are in life, Sound exists for one purpose: to stand with you through every wave of life.
That purpose guided how we stewarded your money in 2025.
Showing Up During Uncertainty
In a year shaped by economic uncertainty and ongoing change, Sound remained focused on showing up in practical, meaningful ways. We protected your deposits, remained a dependable lending partner, and ensured members could access their money and services when they needed them most.
When life created financial pressure, we worked to provide flexibility. In 2025, Sound completed 2,693 skip‑a‑pays, offering more than $1.5 million in payment relief to members needing extra breathing room. These moments reflect what it means to stand with members—not just in strong times, but in challenging ones as well.
Helping Members Take the Next Step
Supporting life’s milestones remained a core focus. Throughout the year, Sound helped members move forward through accessible lending—financing reliable transportation, supporting home ownership, and helping cover personal needs. This included over 2,000 personal loans, more than 14,000 auto loans, and continued support for home equity and first‑time homebuyers. These decisions translate directly into everyday mobility, housing stability, and peace of mind for our members.
Members also experienced continued investment in how they connect with Sound. In 2025, we made improvements to digital banking and service experiences, so managing money is easier, more secure, and more convenient—whether online, by phone, or in a branch. Our goal across every interaction was simple: dependable service that fits real life.
Strengthening the Communities We Share
As a member‑owned cooperative, Sound’s responsibility extends beyond individual accounts. In 2025, we continued investing in financial wellbeing and community support—hosting 58 financial wellness events that served over 2,500 people. This includes providing financial education to nearly 1,000 students through the Bite of Reality program.
We also supported the communities our members call home by contributing over $670,000 to 248 local nonprofits, donating to food banks—helping to provide the equivalent of 168,740 meals—and volunteering nearly 5,000 employee hours. These efforts reflect our belief that stewarding members’ money includes strengthening the communities where members live and work.
Looking Ahead
Sound’s cooperative model means success is measured not by shareholder returns, but by the value we provide to you. In 2025, we remained committed to balancing individual member needs with the long‑term strength of the credit union—so Sound can continue standing with members today and in the years ahead.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, leadership team, and all Sound employees, thank you for your trust. We are honored to stand with you—through every wave of life.
